CaliforniaTravel.com exists to make a big, complicated state easier to plan. It is an independent travel portal: twelve destination guides and a set of region-wide pages that explain how the pieces fit together.
What we cover
- Twelve destinations, each with pages for tours and tickets, things to see, getting there, practical advice and the best time to go.
- Region-wide planning: itineraries, drive times, airports, car hire, trains, passes and seasons.
- Where to stay in each destination.
- Which bookable tours are worth your money — and where a tour is not needed at all.
How we research
Facts are checked against official sources such as the National Park Service, Caltrans, California State Parks, transport operators and the attractions themselves, and reviewed regularly. Tour prices, ratings and review counts come from GetYourGuide. Where something changes often — park reservation rules, road closures, fees, opening hours — we say so and tell you where to check, rather than pretend to a precision that does not exist.
We also say when something is not bookable through our partners instead of inventing links.
How the site is funded
We are a GetYourGuide affiliate partner and a Trip.com partner. If you book a tour or a room through a link on this site, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you. There is no advertising, no sponsored content and no paid inclusion in any ranking. Read the full affiliate disclosure.
